Jewell Building/Dreamland Hall

This structure built in 1923 was owned by James Jewell, an influentail activist in North Omaha.  On the second floor of this building was the Dreamland Hall, a club for jazz and big bands, whose guest artists included Louis Armstrong, Count Basie and Duke Ellington. Dreamland closed in 1960 and is now offices, a post office and apartments.
