Poppleton Block (1880)

Constructed in Victorian Italianate style of architecture the Poppleton Block typifies the popular form of commercial building constructed in Omaha prior to the 20th century.

This three story was built by Andrew Jackson Poppleton, an attorney for Union Pacific whose successful defense of Ponca Indian Chief Standing Bear set legal precedents in granting status as persons under the law for Native Americans.
